2015 Crawfish Season Expected to Be the Best in Years
2014 was a disappointing year for crawfish lovers. But this season should be the complete opposite.
Last year's season saw low quantities, small-sized crawfish and high prices because of the harshness of the winter. The cold winter made the crawfish burrow deep into the mud, so they didn't grow and were harder to obtain.
But since this winter has been far more mild than 2014, we should enjoy an incredible season for those weird little creatures.
The season for mudbugs has already even started after such a late start last year.
And with such a good season in store, that means better prices for those of us who love to eat crawfish. Prices are hovering around $6 to $8 per pound at the moment, but we should see those prices drop as we get into Spring.
