8 East Texas Football Teams In State 7 on 7 Tournament

John Tyler and Lufkin will be the only two teams from the East Texas region representing Division 1 at this weeks Adidas Texas State 7 on 7 Football tournament in College Station beginning Thursday, after winning their respective area tournaments within the last two weeks.

While the Lions and Panthers prepare for their Division I opponents starting Friday, teams from Pleasant Grove and Spring Hill will be working out to begin their subsequent games on Thursday representing Division II.

Division III also starts their scheduled tournament games on Thursday with East Texas represented well, showing up with 4 teams that include rosters from Tenaha, Daingerfield, Carlisle, and Arp.

The 2019 Tournament will take place in College Station this Thursday-Saturday at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex located at 3101 Harvey Rd. Teams will take on a whole new look this year as the tournaments nation wide are requiring players to support soft-shell head gear now in hopes of attempting to lessen or eliminate minor head injuries from occurring.
