Cornelius Calloway is behind bars after investigators visited a home on County Road 250 in Nacogdoches, according to EastTexasMatters.com. The visit on October 10 was in reference to his four-month-old son. The infant was found unresponsive. After being taken to the hospital, doctors discovered that the boy had a skull fracture, in addition to other injuries. Investigators conducted a search of the home and concluded that the injuries could not have been caused by the infant falling off the couch, as Calloway had initially claimed. On Tuesday (October 15), Calloway came clean and told authorities that he lost his temper, while alone with the child, and hit the boy on the head. He has been charged with a first degree felony, injury to a child. He is currently in the Nacogdoches County jail. His son remains in the hospital.
