American Idol Remembers Prince As Cade Foehner Advances
Shelbyville, Texas native Cade Foehner is one step closer to being crowned American Idol as he advanced to the “Top 5” of the singing competition on ABC.
ABC News report, the 7 contestants sang Prince songs as well as song from the year they were born. Cade with a little help from Sheila E. performed “Jungle Love” from Morris Day and The Time which was written and produced by the late musician. Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan were able to weigh in on their performances and the elimination process was decided by the public.
The final 5 contestants including Cade are Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Gabby Barrett, Maddie Poppe, and Michael Woodard and are currently spent this week in Nashville being mentored by American Idol Champ and alum Carrie Underwood which will also perform on the show Sunday.
It was also announced that American Idol will return again for another season on ABC. The renewal includes all judges and Ryan Seacrest and the Top 7 finalist of this season along with special guest Season 8 winner Kris Allen will go on a 40 plus city tour in July wrapping up in September.
While on tour they will be stopping in Texas at the following locations:

- July 20that the Tobin Center for Performing Arts in San Antonio
- July 21stat the McAllen Performing Arts Center in McAllen
