East Texas could be in for another round of strong thunderstorms this weekend.

We've had a nice string of fair weather days here lately drying us out from last weekends multiple rounds of thunderstorms, but as Saturday approaches the possibility of a severe weather outbreak returns again this weekend. KLTV 7 Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto expects these storms to start affecting East Texans as early as Saturday afternoon. The biggest threat at this time is high winds and flash floods, because the ground is still saturated from previous weeks of rain. There is currently a low risk for tornadoes and large hail.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK, has placed East Texas under an enhanced risk for the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms to pop up in East Texas. We all should remain weather aware Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening and we will keep you up to date if storms reach severe limits Saturday with the First Alert Weather Center at KLTV 7.
