This past weekend all of Black America tuned into Saturday Night Live to watch Eddie Murphy’s triumphant return.

All of us including myself was wondering if Eddie still had it as it was his first return to television in 35 years and he didn’t disappoint.

He brought back classic characters like “Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood”, “Velvet Jones”, “Buckwheat”, and of course “Gumby.”

While everyone was laughing and enjoying the moment Bill Cosby who is currently in jail by the way didn’t take too kind to Murphy who took a jab at him during his opening monologue.

If you told me 30 years ago that I’d be this boring stay-at-home house dad and Bill Cosby would be in jail, even I wouldn’t have took that bet . . . Who is America’s dad now?

While I thought it was hilarious “The Great Cos” didn’t take find it funny as his publicist released a statement on Murphy’s punch line.

It is sad that Mr. Murphy would take this glorious moment of returning to SNL and make disparaging remarks against Mr. Cosby. One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave.

Now if you don’t remember this isn’t the first time where Murphy has been criticized about his work by Cosby.

During his live comedy special "Raw" Murphy explained how Cosby was not a fan of his art because of his vulgar language and the rest is history.

Cosby would like to meet with Murphy to have a meeting of the minds so they can enhance Black people than bringing them down.

I think we shouldn't hold our breath!

However, with his latest movie Dolemite Is My Name and a comedy special on Netflix it is clear that Mr. Murphy is back.
