The Houston Texans made the first of many NFL coaching hires as they get Bill O'Brien as their third head coach in franchise history. After taking over a controversial program at Penn State after Joe Paterno, O'Brien brought Penn State back to national relevance.

O'Brien is known for his offensive savvy as he was a one-time offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots and coached Tom Brady.

"We needed a fiery coach," Texans officials said, hoping to help solve their much-needed quarterback issues.
