With back to school rapidly coming around the corner, lots of East Texans are starting to scramble and look for FUN as the summer months come to an end. This weekend is "Tax Free Weekend" for folks to get started on their back to school shopping but once you get done with that, bring the family out for a fun free event!

The Daryl L. Davis Foundation and Continuing Faith In Christ Ministries are inviting everyone in East Texas to come out to their 4th Annual Fun Day in Tyler at The Glass Recreation Center located at 501 W. 32nd Street this Saturday (Aug. 7th) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This all day FREE family event will feature free food, drinks, a fishing tourney, Bible Study and more! They also have a goal of providing 300 underprivileged kids in East Texas with backpacks and school supplies to get them ready for the upcoming school year.

Melz On The MIC sat down with Mr. Davis inside the Kiss Studio to talk all about his mission, how he got started with hosting the annual fun day and what they have planned for this amazing event which, again, is FREE!

You can check out the interview on The Melz On The MIC Podcast which is available ON DEMAND inside your Kiss app and if you would like to contact Mr. Davis or Continuing Faith In Christ Ministries call them at 903-944-4443.
