From social distancing, wearing face coverings and working virtually from home one of the last things I expected was to consider how to celebrate the holidays and special occasions.

As we get into the fall season the CDC is still sending a reminder to be safe and use caution as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday to prevent spreading the virus while enjoying your family.

If you are planning your Thanksgiving dinner follow these guidelines from the CDC to make sure you and your family are safe and protected.

You can participate Low Risk Activities like the following

  • Preparing a small dinner with only people in your home
  • Having a virtual dinner and sharing recipes with family and friends.
  • Watch sports events, parades, and movies from home

Moderate Risk Activities include the following

  • Having a small outdoor dinner with family and friends in the community
  • Going to the pumpkin patch or apple orchards with hand sanitizer to use before touching pumpkins or picking apples with proper face coverings.
  • Go to small outdoor activities with safety precautions.

Now avoid these High Risk Activities to prevent getting COVID-19

  • Shopping in crowded stores
  • Crowded parades
  • Large indoor party gatherings with people outside your household.
