Chris Brown Wins Four 2020 Soul Train Awards
Last night was a great night for Chris Brown at the 2020 Soul Train Awards which aired on BET. Brown was the big winner last night taking home the Soul Train Best R&B/Soul Male Artist Award and his mega smash hit "Go Crazy" won 3 awards including "Song Of The Year".
H.E.R., who lead the show with the most nominations, took home 2 awards including best R&B/soul Female Artist and the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award for “I Can’t Breathe.” H.E.R. was there to accept her award and gave a great speech about defending R&B music.
Major Congratulations go out to Monica and Brandy who both took home awards for their work. Brandy was given the "Soul Train Certified" Award while Monica took home "The Lady Of Soul" award. Both performed last night as well.
Other winners include Summer Walker whose debut album "Over It" won "Album Of The Year" and Snoh Aalegra won Best New Artist.
Meanwhile, Texas represented well as Kirk Franklin took home the Best Gospel/Inspiration Award and Beyonce with her daughter Blue Ivy, took home "Video Of The Year" honors for "Brown Skin Girl".
There were also a bevy of great performances including the return of Jazmine Sullivan who performed two new songs "Lost Ones" & "Pickup Your Feelings".
Lucky Daye brought some new school flavor to a classic with Babyface as they performed "Shoulda" a flip on Toni Braxton's smash hit "Love Should've Brought You Home".
