We are waking up to sad news from the world of comedy this morning as we are learning that comedian Tyler Craig has died at the age of 54.

According to Heavy, Craig was a comedy legend in Atlanta, best known for his appearances on BET's Comic View, HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Jamie Foxx's "Laffapalooza!" and Martin Lawrence's "First Amendment".

Craig was best known for ending his jokes with the catchphrase "And the moral of the story is" and Craig once explained:

“One of my jokes at the end, I said, “And the moral of the story is be yourself,” and that’s where it started. Cause I feel like you have to learn something after each trial and tribulation you go through. So you’re really not losing, you’re learning how to win.”

Craig has also made several appearances here in Central Texas at The Twice As Funny Comedy Lounge who passed along their condolences on social media this morning:

Comedians from across the country are sending their condolences and we are as well. Rest In Peace Mr. Craig and thank you for the laughs. Check out Melz On The MIC interviewing him last year below.
