Colin Kaepernick is back in the headlines after donating $10,000 to the group Mothers Against Police Brutality based out of Dallas, Texas. This is part of his pledge to donate $1 million dollars in charitable giving and his friends are joining in on the cause as well.

You may have heard of him.

WFAA reports that rapper Snoop Dogg, who matched Kaep's $10,000 also pledged an additional $15,000 bringing, the grand total to $35,000 in donations.

Snoop gave a statement on why he’s donating to Colin’s pledge:

When I heard about the great works he was doing in the community, I decided to pledge $10,000 to match what he’s doing, because I love what he’s doing.

Colin announced on his website that the additional funds will go towards the organization’s legal defense fund and a day of workshops.  Mothers Against Police Brutality is designed to be a voice for justice for victims of police brutality and deadly force. From their website, they are "multi-racial, multi-ethnic, coalition uniting mothers worldwide to fight for civil rights, police accountability, and policy reform". They showed their appreciation to Colin via their Twitter page.

Snoop Dogg was the fourth individual to pledge to Colin’s movement. Other stars include Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry from the Golden State Warriors, as well as actor Jesse Williams.
