D’Angelo & Friends VERZUZ This Weekend

Normally, we would be up to speed with what's happening with the VERZUZ series but when you consider most of us in Texas spent the week frozen stiff without power, it was kind of easy to forget that one of R&B's most reclusive stars will be doing something dope this weekend.

This Saturday night at 8:00 PM R&B legend D'Angelo will be doing a special VERZUZ with a surprise list of stars that's being billed as "D'Angelo & Friends" at the historic Apollo Theater in New York.

While we don't know who the "friends" are going to be, it will be interesting to see who will be stopping by to perform "against" the singer who hasn't dropped any new music since his highly acclaimed "Black Messiah" in 2014. Verzuz last battle was a few weeks back when Keyshia Cole went up against Ashanti in a battle that produced "mixed" reviews. Previous battles lead to big increases in streams for artists like Monica and Brandy, Jeezy and Gucci Mane and Babyface and Teddy Riley.
