East Texas Newest R&B: New Music On Our Radar This Week
We're approaching the 90 days left mark in 2021 and thanks to the Verzuz battles and a resurgence of new music from new stars and the OG's alike, its been a strong year for R&B!
The holiday season is ramping up and a lot of stars are going on tour this fall and winter while other will be releasing brand new music in preparation for 2022.
This week alone, we got flooded with a bunch of new jams from some R&B legends and more. We're keeping an ear to the streets to see how you love these songs so why not give it to you first and let you decide!
With brand new songs from R&B Legends The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind and Fire, currently burning up the charts and airwaves some old school R&B legends are getting in on the act.
THE TEMPTATIONS FEATURING SMOKEY ROBINSON "IS IT GOING TO BE YES OR NO"
This year marks the 60th Anniversary celebration of The Temptations, the legendary, group known as the “No. 1 R&B Artists of All Time” according to Billboard. They just released their brand-new single, “Is It Gonna Be Yes Or No," a duet between the group and the equally legendary Smokey Robinson, the man who delivered their first hits. The song, also written and produced by Smokey, is a preview of the upcoming TEMPTATIONS 60 album.
KOOL & THE GANG - PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
The OG's aren't done yet baby as the legendary Kool & The Gang also dropped new music this week featuring Balawa Muhammad, Walt Anderson and Keith Murray. They call their new single "Pursuit of Happiness" a "Feel Good Message of Our Times".
ALICIA KEYS FEAT. SWAE LEE - LALA
Alicia Keys released the official video for her new single “LALA” featuring Swae Lee. Directed by Sylvia M Zakhary & Sing J. Lee, the video brings you to a world all her own, with Alicia performing for a star-studded crowd, including Snoop Dogg, Lena Waithe, Khalid, Swizz Beatz, Russell Westbrook, Gunna and more as they revel in the evening.
LUCKY DAYE - OVER
Lucky Daye returns with a powerful new song “Over,” featuring a familiar sample from Musiq Soulchild’s “Halfcrazy”. The video features Lucky dealing with the constraints of celebrity culture and a constant loop of pressure and loneliness until he realizes that he must first take care of his relationship with the object of his affection before he can launch himself into the wider world and change it.
