East Texas Workforce Solutions will be on the campus of Jarvis Christian
College for clients interested in applying for the WOIA and TAA funding for
the Adult and Continuing Education Program.

WIOA stands for  Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and TAA is the Trade Adjustment Assistance. Funding is now available to students at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. TAA is a federally-funded employment program that assists workers whose jobs have been impacted by foreign imports, while WIOA provides federal job training funds for adults and dislocated workers. As a student with funding through TAA or WIOA, there are special considerations that apply.

To learn more about qualifying for this program be sure to attend one of the orientation sessions to be held on the campus of Jarvis Christian College in the Meyer Building on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 27, 2021 | 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 10, 2021 | 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The 8-week certification programs each cost $600 and covers the fees, learning materials and exam. To enroll call 903-730-4890 extension, email Mrs. Dorothy Langley at dlangley@jarvis.edu or log on to Jarvis.edu. Temperature screenings will be conducted and mask are required to attend this event.

The Renaissance Adult Education Program offers adult learners an opportunity to earn an associate’s degree in religion, criminal justice or general studies and a bachelor’s degree in religion, business or criminal justice. Jarvis Christian College offers a well-designed curriculum, academic support services, and a flexible course schedule to accommodate the needs of working adults.
