Eight Things To Do In East Texas This Weekend: October 27th
There's a lot to celebrate in East Texas this weekend! Hot peppers, dogs, hogs and hot dogs!
Just in time for the weekend, the clouds and rain are on the way out and the sunshine and warmer temperatures are on their way in just in time for a plethora of weekend activities scattered around East Texas!
Here are some of the great events taking place in East Texas this weekend:
Dogtoberfest is a fund raising event for the SPCA of East Texas that will feature pets available for adoption from area rescues along with a craft beer festival! It all happens at Jul's Event Center on Old Jacksonville Hwy. in Tyler Saturday from 11a - 7p.
Boo At The Zoo
Dress the kids up in their Halloween costumes and go trick or treating through Caldwell Zoo in Tyler on Saturday or Sunday! Not only will you see the animals with your paid admission, there will be bounce houses, costume contests, trick or treating stations and more!
Hot Pepper Festival
If you can handle the heat, then this festival is for you in downtown Palestine on Saturday! The Hot Pepper Festival features hot peppers along with other food and vendor booths on the streets of downtown Palestine.
Feral Hog Festival
It's a festival that is unique to East Texas! Happening in downtown Ben Wheeler, the festival features a hog cook-off, parade, pageant, vendor booths and live music!
Hopkins County Fall Festival
This festival has actually been happening since last Saturday (October 20th) and will run through Saturday the 27th at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. The festival features and arts & crafts fair, Kids Zone, horse rides, games, rides, food and more!
Prowl-O-Ween at Tiger Creek Wildlife Sanctuary
As a non-profit animal sanctuary specializing in big cats, Tiger Creek Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting Prowl-O-Ween for the second year. Bring a pumpkin for a big cat and get half off admission. Check the Facebook page for more details.
Oscar Mayer Wienermobile
The famous over-sized hot dog on wheels is rolling through the streets of Longview each day through Halloween. It's going to be at many hot spots in Longview all weekend!
Fall Festivals + Trunk-Or-Treats
With Halloween coming up Wednesday many churches throughout East Texas will be hosting Fall Festivals and Trunk-Or-Treating events. Honestly there are too many to list here, but all you need to do is look for the signs in the lawn of a church near you and then take the kids for a little fall fun in their costumes!
