The NBA began its season yesterday with the Boston Celtics taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers. All eyes were on this game because newly acquired guard Kyrie Irving made his return to his former team after requesting a trade in the off season.

However, the main headline was the Celtics' new star forward, Gordon Hayward, after he suffered a gruesome broken ankle by colliding with LeBron James as he went up for a dunk  in the first quarter. His leg twisted underneath him and he collapsed as he came back down on the floor.

Hayward's left ankle could be seen at an angle pointing out, and he put his hands to his face and fell back to the floor in pain and horror after he saw what had happened. Hayward's leg was put in an air cast and he was taken off the floor in a stretcher to an ovation from the Cleveland crowd.

Bat Jock who was watching the recap of last night’s game in the Hot 1073 Jamz studio couldn’t believe his eyes after watching the instant replay of the horrible accident.  Hayward could be out for the rest of the season.

Let’s send him well wishes as he recovers from this horrific accident.
