Florida Girl Forced Up A Tree To Escape Stalking Aligator
Talk about a close call!
15-year-old Jordan Broderick is breathing a sigh of relief after climbing a tree to escape an alligator.
Orlando Sentinal report, the incident happened at a camping area north of Orlando, Florida where the Jordan was floating on a raft in the Ocala National Forest and spotted an alligator coming towards her.
Broderick grabbed a branch hanging over the water and used it to climb up a tree to escape the gator, but the gator wasn’t giving up and waited at the foot of the tree.
Jordan’s parents called 9-1-1 to report the incident:
My daughter's stuck in a frickin' tree and there's gators surrounding her! Oh my God! Please hurry! Please hurry!
After nearly over 30 minutes Ocala County Deputy Mitch Blackmon arrived on the scene and with his authorized AR-15 rifle he killed the gator.
Sherriff’s Sgt. Fred Jones indicated July is when alligator mating season comes to a close and residences should be cautious around large bodies of water or shorelines.
I'm just glad Jordan was not harmed during this incident.
