Get Ready For Swim Season 2023 In Longview, TX
We're Going Back Outside As The Temps Warm Up So Get Ready To Get Your Splash On!
Summer is rapidly approaching even though right now it may not feel like it due to the "April Showers" that bring about "May Flowers" but after the flowers bloom, we're going to take a dive in the pool and Longview Parks and Recreation is getting the word out EARLY.
Longview’s public pools will open for the 2023 swim season Saturday, June 3.
We received word from the City Of Longview that they are getting ready for swim season at the city's two public pools: Ingram Pool and at the Longview Swim Center. But before you get too excited, they let us know that there are a few things that will be missing during this year's season.
Learn to Swim classes won’t be offered.
Unfortunately, Learn to Swim classes won’t be offered due to a lack of certified instructors. The Longview Parks and Recreation Department added that it understands the importance of this vital service in the community and looks forward to bringing it back as soon as staffing levels allow.
Also, the lap pool at the Longview Swim Center will be closed for the duration of the season to allow for necessary repairs. The City is also still actively seeking lifeguards for the summer season. For more information, please call Longview Parks and Recreation at 903-237-1270.
Longview Parks and Recreation will hold its regular aquatic events including Splash Day, Itty Bitty Beach Party, Dive-In Movie, and the Dog Days of Summer.
Ingram Pool located at 1400 N. Tenth St. (shown above) will open throughout the season on Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays through Sundays.
The Longview Swim Center’s recreational pool located at 1111 W. Fairmont St. will be open Mondays through Saturdays. The Longview Swim Center will close following the Dog Days of Summer event on Saturday, Aug. 5. Ingram Pool will close Sunday, Aug. 6. See yall at the pool!
