I’m sure it was a difficult decision to a tip regarding his own father breaking the law but when it comes to child porn, it was great to see that the correct decision was made in this instance. The very alarming details regarding this case were released by WFAA regarding a man in Texas who was a registered sex offender after being convicted of possessing child porn in 2003 was just convicted of the very same crime.

The registered sex offender is 64-year-old David Earl Boyd, and the U.S. Department of Justice said that a federal jury has found him guilty of two counts of producing child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and count for possessing these items after being a registered sex offender. All of these charges are felonies which is why Boyd will now be facing a minimum of 45 years in federal prison.

The Online Tip Was Submitted by the Sex Offenders Son

In the Spring of 2022, the son of David Boyd stumbled upon sexual images of two young children (ages 6 and 3). Those images were located in a trash folder and Boy’s son took a screen shot then forwarded the tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who then took the information to law enforcement.

A Criminal Investigation Found More Criminal Activity

After law enforcement received the tip, Boyd was arrested, and his phone was seized. Investigators found an app on his phone called “Hide It Pro” which had been deleted but thousands of images and videos were still recovered.

Again, I’m certain turning in your father for illegal activities cannot be an easy decision but as you can see it was the correct thing to do.
