Inmate found dead in Smith County Jail

The inmate, Randall Lamont Britton, 32, was found unresponsive in his cell, according to a Smith County Sheriff’s Office press release.  Officers found Britton as they were preparing to feed inamtes on Saturday afternoon. Medics tried to revive him with CPR, according to KLTV.  An autopsy will be performed by the Southwestern Institute of Forensic (Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office) in Dallas.  Britton was in the jail awaiting sentencing on charge of second-degree manslaughter for his father’s death.
