Intoxicated Texas Woman Leads Cops On Wild Chase Through Shopping Center
A Texas woman was arrested after allegedly leading San Antonio police and state troopers on a wild chase that was caught on video from multiple angles.
Driving while intoxicated (DWI) is a significant issue in Texas, with authorities consistently warning drivers about the dangers and legal consequences of getting behind the wheel under the influence.
In the case of Audrey Marie Schneider of San Antonio, we have someone who clearly doesn't really CARE about the legal consequences of driving while drunk but she will learn soon enough after a wild police chase.
According to Fox San Antonio, everything kicked off around 2 p.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to pull Schneider over on Interstate 35 in Comal County.
But instead of stopping, Schneider hit the gas and led the trooper on a reckless pursuit through Comal and Bexar Counties. During the high-speed chase, Schneider crashed into multiple vehicles, including the trooper’s patrol car.
The chase finally came to an end at the Alamo Quarry shopping center where there was a busy parking lot of shoppers. That didn't stop Schneider from driving around the lot in circles and ramming into other cars as police tried their best to diffuse the situation without putting shoppers at risk.
Schneider can be seen smiling and sometimes "waving" at shocked onlookers as she kept on going. Everything came to an end when she hopped out of her SUV and ran into a salon but when the trooper entered the salon to arrest her, she allegedly assaulted him but thankfully, the trooper not injured.
The 37 Year Old now faces a ton of charges but this isn't her first rodeo.
In 2017, Schneider faced a charge of obstruction of a highway while intoxicated but that charge was later dismissed due to her being granted deferred adjudication. She now faces charges of assaulting a peace officer and driving while intoxicated with an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.
At this time, Schneider remains inside the Bexar County Jail.
