(KNUE-FM) We’ve all heard over the past few days that ICE agents will be assisting operations at airports across the country, but does that include Texas? The answer to that question is yes.

According to KVUE, it’s normal for federal officers to be present at international airports, but it’s unusual to see their visibility at TSA security checkpoints.

Why Federal Agents Are Being Deployed

Federal immigration officers have been deployed to 14 U.S. airports this week after President Donald Trump said they were to supplement the Transportation Security Administration during the government shutdown.

On Monday morning, there were reports that ICE agents were seen at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. But that’s not all, as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said ‘hundreds' of officers will be deployed, but where they’re going isn’t being disclosed for security reasons.

White House Border Czar Tom Homan said that ICE agents are at 14 U.S. airports with more to come.
