It’s crazy to me how many people think they will get away with illegal fishing or hunting here in the state of Texas. There are game wardens and other law enforcement officials that these outdoor activities are serious, which is why we continue to hear about more people being caught doing illegal activities in Texas wildlife.

Back in 2022 I wrote a story about illegal fishing going on in the Gulf of Mexico and over 500 lbs of snapper being caught at that time which was way more than the legal limit. I thought that was a lot but then in December of 2023 I wrote about another illegal fishing operation that was caught this time with 2,600+ pounds of red snapper that was captured by 5 different boats. But recently there was yet again another huge illegal fishing operation that was caught in the Gulf of Mexico.

This Time it Was 2,160 Pounds of Illegal Fish Seized in Texas

It was the U.S. Coast Guard Heartland that found the 2,160 pounds of illegal caught fish in federal waters on February 23rd. All fishermen that were stopped by the Coast Guard were detained and ended up being transferred to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel for processing.
