It seems like a lot of people in the state of Texas don’t exactly love self-checkout. Many people seem to think that it takes away jobs, although I think most of those clerks are now just moved to fill online orders. But I do understand how you lose some of the customer service that many people used to love as they would have a conversation with a grocery store clerk as they were scanning and bagging your items. But regardless of how you feel about the self-checkout machines there are a few things that all store clerks would like us to know. 

The self-checkout debate is something I go back and forth with because sometimes I want to hurry and pay for my items as quickly as possible so I can go on about my day. And other days I have a ton of items to scan and bag so it is helpful to have a season employee available to help. But there are some tips listed below that should help all of us in Texas as we get our groceries at the store. 

Ask for Assistance Less Often
