Former football great O.J. Simpson has died. As for the cause of death, his family released a simple statement to the media saying,

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

Simpson was 76 years old and in Las Vegas when he died, according to TMZ. Earlier this year, he was reportedly diagnosed with prostate cancer and is in the process of receiving chemo. There were rumors of him possibly living under hospice care before his death. However, the former athlete/actor put the chatter to rest with a February 9 post and video on X, saying "all is well" and that he was not under hospice care.
