Check This Out, Here’s What’s Happening In East Texas

It's that time of the year when it feels like we're on a roller coaster when it comes to the weather. That's springtime in East Texas for ya.

It can get up to nearly 80 one day and then in the upper 50s the next with a chance of storms. That's basically what we experienced this week, and East Texans in our eastern counties are cleaning up after severe storms rolled through the area on Tuesday.

When it comes to outdoor activities on Saturday, you're going to want to have an indoor option because there is currently a 70% chance of rain on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Thankfully, there are some indoor options available for you this weekend. For those outdoor activities and events, let's hope the rain holds off so that you can enjoy them.

Time Change Weekend

Daylight Saving Time returns Sunday at 2 a.m. So before you go to bed Saturday night, remember to advance that alarm clock one hour or you'll be late and miss Sunday School and that coffee pot too. Then, when you return home, you can change the clocks on the microwave and stove.

While you're changing the clocks, it's also a good idea to go ahead and change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. You might also want to test your home's alarm system, but before alarming it and setting it off, be sure to coordinate with your monitoring service, or the police might show up unannounced.

Goodman-LeGrand Museum 5th Annual Antique Quilt Display

Saturday, March 8 - Sunday, April 5
N Broadway - Tyler

This year’s display features more than 20 quilts from the 1830s to the 1940s, including a remarkable 1830s quilt and an 1880s quilt once owned by the Goodman-LeGrand family. In addition to the quilts, the exhibit will highlight vintage embroidery pieces, offering a glimpse into the intricate needlework of past generations.

The Goodman-LeGrand Museum is located at 624 N. Broadway. Admission is free, but a suggested $3 donation per person helps support the museum's daily operations. For groups of 10 or more, a $3 per person fee applies. All donations are greatly appreciated.
