Gregg County Law Enforcement Arrested 47 On Felony Charges Last Week
In a perfect world, there would be no crime because a citizen's want or need would be granted. Unfortunately, we are not living in a perfect world in Longview, Texas or in Gregg County because crime continues to happen. It's not just Longview and Gregg County, crime happens throughout the world.
Criminals are aware of the laws that we all must abide by, but they make the choice to abandon those laws and basically do what they please. In these cases, it is left up to law enforcement to enforce the laws or ordinances of the city, county, state, and nation.
Once those who break the law are apprehended they are arrested and processed through the jail system with intentions of being held responsible for their actions.
Last week, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, Longview Police Department, and the Kilgore Police Department along with Texas DPS officers were busy with traffic stops, serving warrants, and working with additional agencies to make our streets and communities safer for everyone in Gregg County.
While doing their job they encountered some individuals who made a bad decision earlier in the day and ended up making an unscheduled trip to jail.
While there were many arrests made last week, some arrested are facing felony charges that include:
unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
possession of a controlled substance
assault causes bodily injury family violence or impeding breath
driving while intoxicated times 3
possession of marijuana
continual sex abuse of a child
possession of child pornography
theft of a firearm
It does not matter what the offense is, those arrested are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
