Six Flags Over Texas Implements New Chaperone Policy For Fright Fest

It's the scariest time of the year at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas! Fright Fest begins Friday, September 13th, and will run on selected days through Sunday, November 3rd.

The premiere theme park in North Texas transforms during the Halloween season with goblins, ghouls, freaks, clowns, and weird creatures of all kinds taking over the park when the sun goes down. Before the park's transformation happens though, Kids Boo Fest fills the park with fun activities, trick or treating for younger guests, plus all the family-friendly rides and activities.

Things change though once the sun goes down and Fright Fest takes over. Fog and mist fill the air and ghouls, zombies and other creatures walk the park. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience. In addition to the creatures the park has special shows, haunted house attractions (for an additional charge), scare zones, and rides in the dark.

Fright Fest has been a hit for many years now and has grown in popularity, especially among the park's younger guests. This is a very popular time for visitors to Six Flags Over Texas, however, in the past couple of years, the park seemed to have trouble with its teenage guests. Park guests have complained about large groups of unsupervised teenagers 'running wild' and causing chaos in the park.

Six Flags Over Texas hopes to curtail and put an end to this type of behavior by implementing a new chaperone policy that will go into effect this Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. and every night through Fright Fest.

The new Six Flags Chaperone Policy requires:

• All Fight Fest guests under 15 must be with a chaperone aged 21 or older to get into and remain at Six Flags Over Texas.
• Each chaperone can have up to 10 guests.
• The chaperone must remain in the park with their guests 15 and younger.
• The company says the policy is meant to limit an increase in unruly and inappropriate behavior.

The policy was announced on the theme park's Facebook page and fully states:

Six Flags Over Texas isn't the only theme park or regional fair to take this kind of action. Officials at the State Fair Of Texas have implemented a similar policy for this year (Fox 4 News) as well as other Six Flags properties and regional fairs across Texas and the nation.
