(Mix 93-1) Well, here we are, a long three-day holiday weekend is here, and it marks the unofficial ending of summer—Labor Day weekend 2025.

It has definitely been a strange August when it comes to the weather.  Thanks to a couple of rare August cold fronts, it's going to be much cooler than normal this Labor Day weekend and a bit rainy at times, too. While it may not be suntanning weather thanks to the clouds and anticipated rain, the lakes will still be a focus this weekend.

Folks will be getting out on the water and firing up the grills this weekend. Whether in the lakeside park, city park, or their backyard, family and friends will be gathering for some grilled food and some friendly competition when it comes to games.

This unofficial ending of summer also brings on the annual Labor Day weekend sales at the mattress and appliance stores. So if you're refrigerator quit working this summer, this could be the weekend to get a new one.

Looking at this weekend's events, there seems to be something for everyone, including your dog!
