11 Weekend Events In East Texas – October 4th

(Mix 93-1) It's about that time of the year when we start questioning Mother Nature on when exactly Fall is going to arrive in East Texas. While it's technically fall, it still feels very summer-like in East Texas. We're just wanting it to cool off some so that we can enjoy our weekend events comfortably and not have to carry around a towel to dry our sweat!

Many of the things going on this weekend are outdoor events, so you'll want to be prepared with some sunscreen, a hat, and your sunglasses, and quite possibly someplace to set up some shade so you can get some relief from the beaming sun.

Rose City Airfest

Saturday and Sunday
Tyler Pounds Regional Airport - Tyler

'Feel The Thunder' at this airshow happening in Tyler. Former military aircraft will be on display during this two-day event. Walk around and see these current and vintage aircraft up close and in some cases, tour the inside or go on an actual flight. The airshow will feature these mighty warplanes along with parachutists and a Navy flight simulator. This is a ticketed event. This event supports Camp V.

Canton First Monday Trade Days

It is time to shop until you can't shop or walk anymore! The world's largest flea market is open for business, and vendors will spread out over 450 acres with their vintage goods for sale, along with homemade crafts, antiques, soaps, animals, clothing, and so much more. There's live entertainment and, of course, the festival food to satisfy your appetite. You'll find something you didn't realize you needed!

Butterflies & Reflections 2025

We invite you to join us for our annual Butterfly Release to be held on Saturday, October 4th at 9 AM. Together, we will release butterflies in a beautiful tribute, share words of encouragement, and take time for reflection as we honor the memories of loved ones.

Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale

Raguet St - Nacogdoches

SFA Gardens will host its annual Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center in historic Nacogdoches.

The sale will feature an array of hard-to-find, “Texas-tough” plants, like East Texas native plants, and pollinator-friendly selections. Expect to find great trees, including Japanese maples, redbuds, bald cypress, and more. A list of all available plants will be posted on the SFA Gardens website two weeks before the sale.

Parking will be available at SFA’s Janice A. Pattillo Early Childhood Research Center, located at 2428 Raguet St. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and bring a wagon for carrying their plants

Raceway Muscle Car Club 5th Annual Benefit Car Show

The East Texas Crisis Center Car Show, the biggest show in East Texas at the old Hollywood Theater. Expecting 650 to 700 cars at this car show!!

Blessing Of The Animals

College Ave - Henderson

Blessing of the Animals will be held on Saturday, October 4th, from 11 am - 1 pm. This is a free “come and go” event. All pets/animals are welcome, but must be leashed or contained. Rusk County Pets Alive will be with us, offering pet art.
The event will be held rain or shine. See you in the patch!

The Longview Great Pumpkin Roll will be held in conjunction with another Downtown event: Ollie's Downtown Takeover.
