World Record Tallest And Smallest Dogs Meet For First Time

Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. You can have a very lean dog, like a Greyhound, or a plump dog like a pug. You can have a tall dog like an Irish Wolfhound or a short dog like a Yorkshire Terrier. Whatever kind of dog you have, there's one thing they all have in common, and that's unconditional love.

They will give you that love no matter what mood you're in. Here in Texas, we're used to seeing Labrador Retrievers, Poodles, Schnauzers, and Basset Hounds, it's the uncommon breeds that turn our heads. Watching the Westminster Dog Show on television will open your eyes to how many different breeds of dogs there are.

Just yesterday, (May 1st), we celebrated our dog's 10th birthday. During her time, she has met quite a few dogs and has gotten along with all of them but one! It's funny to see when my medium-sized dog used to play with my mom's small toy poodle. You'd think a bigger dog would be more wild, but not in this case.

A similar thing happened recently when the world's tallest and shortest dogs met up for a play date.

A 3-foot-tall dog meets a 3.6-inch-tall dog

There is a three-foot size difference between the world's tallest and shortest living dogs. Reggie, the Great Dane, stands at an impressive 3 feet 4 inches, whereas Pearl, the chihuahua, is a mighty 3.6 inches tall, according to Guinness World Records.

These two dogs recently got together for a play date. At first, Pearl's owner was a bit concerned, but after some mutual sniffing and sizing each other up, these two were cuddled up next to each other on Reggie's favorite sofa.

This arrangement was made by Guinness World Records as part of its 70th anniversary celebration. Once Reggie and Pearl became more acquainted, they ended up exploring Reggie's neighborhood together and tiring themselves out from all the playing and sniffing.

While there is a huge size difference between these dogs, their owners say they have two similarities. They are both divas, and they each enjoy wearing sweaters. So they're both high-maintenance dogs, it would seem.

Judging from the pictures I've seen online and in the video, it would appear as if this unlikely pair will be best friends for life, although Reggie lives in Idaho and Pearl is in Florida.
