An active Hurricane season may get even more active and Texas isn't out of the woods when it comes to storms this season.

If predictions are correct, this year's Hurricane season is about to get even more active and that means Texas and the Gulf Coast could see more storms.

Colorado State University has updated their forecast for the 2024 Hurricane Season and they now expect this year's Hurricane Season to be an "extremely active season" according to KXAN.

The new and updated forecast calls for 25 named storms to develop with 12 of those becoming Hurricanes. Colorado State also predicted that 6 of those Hurricanes would register as a Category 3 of higher.

So what impact could this have on Texas? According to KXAN, Colorado State forecasters say Texas does have a high risk of getting hit again.

The new CSU forecast predicts a 54% chance of a hurricane within 50 miles of the Texas coast, and a 25% chance of a major hurricane near Texas. Both of those figures are above average.

So will Texas see another Hurricane this season? There is a very good chance. Remember, Hurricane season just began and it runs until November 30.

Hurricane Beryl which made landfall as a category 1 Hurricane left at least 8 dead, millions without power and homes damaged or completely blown away according to NBC News.
