Driving throughout Texas is sometimes a joy isn't it?

When the roads and empty and the temperature is just right, there's nothing better than taking to the Texas roadways. There are so many choices that one has for a vehicle as well. But recently driving in the state has been a bit more difficult than some would imagine.

Why is that you ask? Well many have traveled to Texas for one major reason: the Total Solar Eclipse. The day is almost here, and to say the least, traffic in some areas of the state has grown in size.

But while some are worried about about the traffic, some in the state have suggested one type of vehicle shouldn't be taken on the roadway. What is it?

So what could be the vehicle Texans should be behind the wheel when the Total Solar Eclipse happens? Well it is none other than an electric vehicle. But...why avoid the electric car?

Well, it's not because the car will harm the environment on the day in question. Rather, it's because if your car gets low on charge, you might not be able to recharge quickly. As reported by KSAT, Adam Hammons, the TxDOT Media Relations Director, stated the following:

"It’s important for everyone, including drivers with electronic vehicles, to be prepared for heavy traffic on April 8, especially in the hours after the eclipse...For EV drivers that means having a full charge before getting on the road and planning out charging stations along your route."

But if you do plan to drive an electric vehicle the day of the eclipse, Hammons suggested checking DriveTexas to see how traffic is before the get on the road.
