TEXAS BEWARE : Polio-Like Virus That Paralysis Children Is Making A Comeback
Texas children and parents must be very aware of the enterovirus D68. According to Gizmodo, a polio virus that can cause children to become paralyzed has appeared to make its return. This dangerous virus has spiked naturally since August says scientists. Polio is a disease caused by poliovirus and most people have no symptoms or mild symptoms but still become paralyzed from the virus.
TEXAS NEEDS TO PREPARE FOR A PARALYZING VIRUS MAKING A COMEBACK
Before there were vaccines thousands of people were paralyzed due to the outbreak and wild poliovirus type two entry was eradicated, but the type one virus still spreads in parts of the world. Unfortunately, there is no cure for polio and the only way to prevent the dangerous virus is to receive a vaccination. Usually, the outbreak can cause a little more than a mild respiratory infection however, over a decade, scientists noticed that some children were affected by the virus and eventually developed it.
WHAT ARE SOME SYMPTOMS OF THE PARALYZING VIRUS?
The dangerous virus slowly destroys the body by first weakening your limbs, then begins to weaken other parts of your body, and sometimes individuals develop facial weaknesses, slurred speech, and even pain along the limbs and back. Scientists believe that it may take years for this treatment to become accessible to the public, even if this trial and others are successful. If a resurgence of the virus occurs, having this potential treatment on hand could be invaluable for families in the future.
