We're super excited to have partnered with our friends at The Juneteenth Association of Tyler and The Tyler Metro Chamber of Commerce to help spread the word about all the Juneteenth events this year!

As part of this year's celebration, The Juneteenth Association of Tyler is proud to announce the deserving college bound high school graduates who are recipients of a Juneteenth Academic Scholarship. In total, $2500 in scholarship money will be going to these deserving young people each being awarded $500.

The 2021 recipients are:

  • Jayla Thompson of Whitehouse High School who will attend Prairie View A&M University and major in Mechanical Engineering
  • Jaydyn Martin of Tyler High School will also attend Prairie View A&M University and major in Criminal Justice
  • Keelan Erwin of Tyler High School will attend the University of Houston and major in Marketing
  • Christopher Whitmore of Tyler Legacy High School who will attend Texas A&M University and major in Civil Engineering-Vertical Construction Project Manager.
  • Halle Caver of Tyler High School will also attend Prairie View A&M University and major as a Pre-Med student.
