Looking For Weekend Fun? Check Out These East Texas Events
Another East Texas weekend is upon us and if you still don't have plans or are not exactly sure what you want to do this weekend, don't worry because there are a lot of things happening around us that there is bound to be something that interests you.
This weekend features fairs, festivals, and concerts with some fun to go along with them all.
As we get ready for fall's arrival next week, things are going to be heating up and summer isn't going to let go too quickly. So when you're out having fun at these events this weekend, please remember to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated and dress for the warmth and humidity too, but you probably don't need me to tell you that!

Gregg County Fair - Longview
The last day for the Gregg County Fair is Saturday evening. Longview it's your final chance to get your fill of fair food - corn dogs, cotton candy, turkey legs, fresh squeezed lemonade - and your thrills on the rides too! Mix 93-1 will be at the fair broadcasting live on the final day (Saturday) from 4p - 6p.
Texas State Forest Festival - Lufkin
This fair opened up at the George Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin Thursday evening and will run through Sunday, September 18th. In addition to the rides, exhibits, and food, there will be a 5k run birds of prey show, ax throwing competition, wood carving displays, and much more.
Gladewater Arts & Crafts Festival - Gladewater
Vendors of all kinds will be set up along Broadway Ave. in downtown Gladewater Saturday and Sunday selling and showing off their arts and crafts, homemade goods, jewelry, unique handmade works, food, toys, and more.
Pittsburg Pioneer Days - Pittsburg
Pittsburg Pioneer Days begin Saturday morning with a parade featuring local youth groups, Queen's Court, bands, and more. Main Street will be lined with vendors and topped off with a carnival featuring rides, games, and food.
Rockin' The Rails - Texas State Railroad - Palestine
Hop aboard the Texas State Railroad Saturday at the Palestine Depot and ride the rails to the Rusk Depot where you will disembark and be entertained for an hour and a half with a concert featuring Blacktop Mojo.
Rose City Fiesta - Bergfeld Park - Tyler
This event takes place Sunday, September 18th at Bergfeld Park in Tyler and is Tyler's largest and most diverse festival of Hispanic and Latin American culture. There will be music, dance performances, exhibits, and activities for the entire family.
