We've been rocking with Mary J. Blige since the early 90's and see her many ups and downs in her career. While many new jacks have come and gone, she still remains the "Queen Of Hip Hop Soul" and she will be receiving a major honor for her work.

According to Rolling Stone, Blige will be honored with BET's Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 BET Awards which take place in Los Angeles on June 23rd.

The 9 time Grammy Award winner has definitely earned this honor. She has 8 multi-platinum albums and her recent transition into acting has already garnered 2 Golden Globe and one Screen Actors Guild nominations. Not to mention in 2018 she became the first double nominee in Academy Award history for best supporting actress and best song categories for her contributions to the Netflix movie Mudbound.

After she's done with the BET Awards, she'll be hitting the road with Nas for a co-headlining summer tour slated to stop in Austin in the fall. The already dropped the a song ahead of the tour called "Thriving" which you can check out at the button below.
