Master P Offers 10 Scholarships to Inner-City Kids at Charity Basketball Game
Master P, and his Team Hope foundation, recently hosted his charity basketball game at Xavier University of Louisiana, where he changed the lives of 10 inner-city kids who attended. The No Limit CEO not only recruited a slew of stars to participate in the game to keep attendees entertained, but he also donated 10 scholarships to inner-city children in the New Orleans community.
The packed venue saw an enthusiastic audience as stars played each other on the court and kept the crowd's energy up. R&B girl group June's Diary opened up the event by singing the national anthem, while the halftime show saw a performance from Master P's daughter Cymphonique and Southern Band.
The proceeds from the game went towards the scholarship fund that benefitted the 10 kids chosen to receive the donations.
In the end, Team NOLA won the game, but it was 7-year old Dequante Hobbs Jr. who was the real star, as he was given the MVP award from Romeo.
The game also incorporated a 3-point contest, as well as a dunk competition, which kept the fans on their feet.
Master P has been hosting a slew of different events over the past few years with his Team Hope foundation. The organization seeks to help build the community of New Orleans, focusing strongly on the youth.
