The artist known as Prince legacy is being kept alive in his home town on Minneapolis as NBA basketball team the Minnesota Timberwolves will remember the icon by giving their fans a special gift to remember the legend.

According to Billboard the Timberwolves along with the Prince Estate is celebrating by having a Prince inspired "City Edition" game by offering fans an exclusive seven-inch vinyl version of "Rock and Roll Is Alive (And It Lives In Minneapolis)."

Fans attending the Timberwolves game against the Miami Heat on Friday (April 5th) will receive a collector's edition 7" track which originally appeared on the B-side to "Gold," a single from the 1995 LP The Gold Experience.

The "Purple One's" hometown team have been promoting the singers ties to Minneapolis by wearing purple jerseys, and featuring artist associated with Prince like Sheila E, and Morris Day and The Time performing at halftime.

April 21st will mark 3 years since the singers death.
