Miss Texas Shocks Her Interviewer With a Very Real Answer About Trump, Charlottesville
Over the weekend the Miss America pageant took place and the Internet is abuzz about Miss Texas Margana Wood for calling out President Trump. Specifically she answered a question about Trump's comments regarding shared blame in what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia last month.
During the question and answer segment of the contest, many contestants were asked questions about political focused topics and they didn’t hold back. When the panel asked Miss Texas about President Trump’s comments on Charlottesville Wood responded in a heated, but articulate manner:
I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious that it was a terrorist attack. And I think that President Donald Trump should’ve made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country. That is the number one issue right now.
Miss Texas' response brought the house down with applause from the audience, but she didn't win the pageant - that honor went to Miss North Dakota Cara Mund. Since her comment, Wood has gained a lot of fans and supporters, according to the Star-Telegram. But on a personal note, Miss Texas Margana Wood is definitely invited to the next barbecue.
