Missy Elliott To Receive The MTV Video Vanguard Award

Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott has a catalogue of hits and classic videos so of course it would be perfect for her to receive the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at this years 2019 MTV Video Awards.

According to Rap Up, MTV made the announcement (August 12th) and to celebrate the rapper, songwriter, and producer will bless the stage for the first time in 16 years.

Missy thanked her fans for the love and support since the news broke,

I am Humbly Grateful to be receiving the MichaelJacksonVideoVanguard Award. I Thank my FANS ‘Supafriends’ who fought diligently to see this day come.

MTV International co-brand head and Viacom music and music talent head Bruce Gillmer said Missy's impact on the music landscape is incredible. Her creative vision across production, performance, and songwriting is unmatched.

To add even more excitement Missy just released a new album Iconology and released a new single "Throw It Back" Friday (August 23) at midnight.
