NBA Player Apologizes After Making Degrading Comment About Black Women

When it comes to interracial dating my personal opinion is "to each it's own."

I have no problems with a black man or woman dating outside of their race and I wouldn't dare question how 'woke' they are either.

However, when it comes to defending your preference to date outside your race by degrading women of color that is where I draw the line and Los Angeles Clippers basketball player Patrick Patterson is now realizing he should have chosen his better words.

According to the Atlanta Black Star, Patterson got dragged on social media after referring to women of color as 'bulldogs' as he posted a picture of himself and his wife Sarah Nassar who is a white woman for their wedding anniversary.

His caption read,

In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours.  In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.  Happy Anniversary.

One fan commented on his picture saying how he grew up loving on our women so why wait until you get some real money for your perspective and even if your wasn't in the NBA and worked at Walmart in Toronto you wouldn't stand a chance and you just became another statistic.

After going back and forth Patterson asked,

Why does it matter?  So I should settle for a bulldog and act like I’m happy with my life and preach ‘keep it in your race’ to the world as if Dr. King didn’t fight/die for equality, acceptance, all cultures loving one another, and no hate?

After that comment social media wasted no time dragging Patterson in which he later issued an apology.

Now will 'Black America' welcome Patterson back into the fold after his apology?  That remains to be seen, but I do hope he changes his point of view on women of color.
