'Netflix and Chill' has gotten a bit more expensive as the streaming service raised their prices again yesterday (January 15th) to $13 for their 58 million US Subscribers.

According to CNN, their cheapest plans went from $8 to $9, the most popular HD standard plan went from $11 to $13, and the 4K plan increased from $14 to $16.

This is the biggest price increase since the services launch 12 years ago.  Also, this is the second time in less than 15 months the streaming juggernaut has increased their subscription rates since October 2017.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said previously that the price increase will be needed as the company invests in more money for original series and popular programming.

The company is also cracking down on illegal password sharing as a UK company Synamedia unveiled a new artificially intelligent solution to find illegal sharing of login of active accounts.

These changes will be applied to all existing subscribers over the next few months and to all new Netflix members immediately.
