One person killed in New Year’s Eve Shooting in Smith County

One person sadly did not make it into 2019 after being shot and killed in Smith County.

The shooting happened on Monday (Dec. 31st) just before 10:30 pm around the 10,000 block of County Road 283, according to CBS19. The shooting was caused by a domestic incident, according to Smith County Sheriff's Office. A man was killed and a woman was injured. The deceased man was identified as Rodney Kilman. The woman, Tena Kilman, was his wife. Mrs. Tilman called authorities saying she had been shot. When deputies arrived, they found Mr. Tilman dead. The Smith County DA stated that the investigation will be presented to a Grand Jury.
