Dogtoberfest is an event that is getting bigger and better every year. This year, the SPCA of East Texas event made the jump to the downtown Tyler square. It was a great day to bring your dog, or dogs, and enjoy a day with the family.

It was also a day that you could take home a new member of the family. Whether it was a dog or cat or even a pig. Yes, a pig. One of the organizations set up for Dogtoberfest was A Pig's Life and Friends. This is a group that rescues pot belly pigs and gives them a place to be loved. This was one of the guys they had to pet and love on:

Pigs are cool.

In addition to the animals ready for adoption, the fantastic food trucks of East Texas were ready to feed us a grilled cheese, taco, kabob or sno cone. There was also a huge tent to try some great craft brews from around Texas, East Texas and even one from Colorado.

There was lots of live entertainment all day and many pet oriented vendors to peruse, too.

All in all, it was a great event for the whole family with many dogs and cats finding a new place to call home. Cheers to Dogtoberfest 2019. We hope to see you next year.
