When Prince was alive he was very much opposed to having his songs and videos digitized for the internet without his permission or compensation. For years, the late musician’s music videos have been unavailable to view online--until now. Prince has an official YouTube and Vevo channel and you can watch a small collection of his visuals right now.

All of the clips are from the Purple Rain archives like “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and live performances of “Take Me With U” and “Baby I’m a Star,” among others. Most likely, the channel was created to coincide with the release of the Purple Rain: Deluxe Expanded Edition, which featured previously unreleased songs.

There’s no word if other Prince music videos will hit the channel. We suggest you subscribe to the page so you won’t miss a single visual.

Since Prince's death, his music has been available on all streaming services except for Tidal, much to the chagrin of JAY-Z. Recently, Prince's half-sister, Sharon Nelson, shared a song written by his late father John L. Nelson called "Heart of Mine."
