Everybody’s favorite “sista-girl” (in my sarcastic voice) Rachel Dolezal the former NAACP leader in Washington state who revealed she was a white woman who lived her life as a black woman is in the news for all the wrong reasons.

From the Washington Post, Dolezal who legally changed her name to "Nkechi Diallo" in 2016 was charged this week with welfare fraud, perjury and false verification for public assistance. She received $8,747 in food assistance and $100 in child care assistance from August 2015 through November 2017.

According to court documents the investigation began in 2017 when a state investigator obtained some information that Diallo written a book and that she deposited nearly $84,000 into her bank account between August 2015 and September 2017 without reporting it to the Department of Social and Health Services.

In April, Diallo was the subject of a Netflix documentary called “The Rachel Divide” and according to Netflix she wasn’t paid for the project.

She faces 15 years in prison if convicted.
