Rapper & Actor Lil Zane Talks About His Role In ‘BMF’ Series On Starz
If you grew up and played around "in the streets" of the South and the Midwest anytime during the late 80s through the early 2000s then you heard of the "BMF" also known as the "Black Mafia Family" very well.
Rapper Lil Zane was one of the youngsters who also heard of the infamous crime syndicate while growing up in Atlanta which was one of BMF biggest turfs. Zane if you remember was a hip hop superstar at the start of the 2000s with a couple of hits including "Callin Me" featuring 112.
But as we all know, hip hop is fickle thing, one minute you're big and getting ready for superstardom, the next you're trying to figure out your next move. Lil Zane has been clear about his story and shared what happened to his rap career.
Label politics still hasn't stopped Lil Zane as he continues to drop new music including his most recent song "3:25 Am" which he just dropped the video for a couple of weeks ago.
While Lil Zane is focusing on his music, he's also focusing on acting as he has been tapped to play a role in the new Starz series "BMF" which airs every Sunday on Starz and on the Starz app.
“BMF” follows the true story of two brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius
Flenory, Jr.,) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), who rose from humble
beginnings to foster the most prominent drug trafficking organization known as, “Black
Mafia Family.”
Set in 1980’s Detroit, the series authentically explores the brother’s upbringing and their parents’ desires for them to pursue and education. But Meech dropped out and got schooled in the streets, allowing his younger brother Terry to follow him down a different path in pursuit of the American Dream.
Melz chops it up with Lil Zane about his role in the series, his new music that's about to drop and more on The Melz on The MIC Podcast below which is also available when you tap on the "On Demand" Button inside your Kiss app! Catch BMF Sunday nights at 7:00 PM CST on Starz and on the Starz app.
