The "Summer Block Party" Is Coming To Texas And We Have The Details!
Live Nation Urban announces what promises to be one of the biggest R&B tours of 2023: Summer Block Party Presents: Jodeci, SWV & Dru Hill. This extensive North American jaunt will be headlined by Charlotte, NC multi platinum quartet Jodeci and joined by legendary R&B vocal trio SWV and R&B group Dru Hill.
With a catalog of generational smashes and instantly recognizable R&B hits, Jodeci, SWV & Dru Hill remain renowned for unforgettable live shows.
Hailed as “The Bad Boys of R&B,” Jodeci is one of the most influential R&B groups of all time. Establishing themselves as a trendsetting force throughout the culture with their signature style, soulful harmonies, and chart-topping hits, members K-Ci, DeVante Swing, JoJo, and Mr. Dalvin have sold over 20 million records worldwide, and achieved three #1 albums on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.
With a career that spans over three decades and 30+ million records sold, SWV continues to be the voice of a new generation.
In 1990, SWV (Sisters With Voices) was formed in New York by Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Tamara “Taj” George and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons. All three vocalists sang in church as children, where they learned their signature vocal harmonies that later became synonymous with the group in the 1990s. The 4 time Grammy-nominated group was honored on VH1’s “100 Greatest Women in Music” list, nominated for an American Music Award and Source Award, won the Soul Train “Lady of Soul” award, and landed #7 on Billboard’s list of Top R&B acts andt #2 on Billboard’s Top Selling/Airplay R&B Female Group of the 1990’s.
In honor of their 25th Anniversary in the music industry, Dru Hill is featuring all members of the group, past and present, to give fans an experience they will never forget.
Founded in 1992 as “14K Harmony,” the group, discovered by manager Kevin Peck, evolved to become “Dru Hill” in 1996, engraving itself into the legacy of R&B music and bringing a dynamic sound to the ever-changing industry. Known for hits like “Tell Me,” “In My Bed,” “Never Make a Promise,” and “How Deep Is Your Love,” the group has given the world music for the ages. Alongside founding members SisQo, Nokio, Jazz, and the latest additions Smoke and Black from the R&B group “Playa,” former members Scola and Tao rejoin the dynamic lineup.
